Bent Tree, Jekyll Island, (05.02.21, #9)
Like all of the images in photographer Joni Sternbach's "Abandoned" exhibit, the chimerical Bent Tree seems to capture a time different from our own. An ambrotype on a glass plate, the image was created using a 19th-century process called wet-plate collodion. An adjunct art instructor at NYU, Sternbach conducts workshops on wet-plate collodion at the International Center of Photography in New York City and the Silver Eye Center for Photography in Pittsburgh. "Abandoned" will be on display from August 5-29 at the Galerie BMG, 12 Tannery Brook Road, Woodstock, (845) 679-0027,
