View From the Top > On the Cover In Nuremberg The Photographer Angelika Rinnhofer specializes in photographs that adopt the ambiance of Renaissance portrait paintings. With this photograph coming from her “Menschenkunde” series, she describes her art as reflecting “on the very essence of portraiture: what is a unique person, and what a unique likeness?" Rinnhofer's work manages a double irony: portraying both people and paintings as portraits. A native of Germany who moved to the Hudson Valley in 1995, Rinnhofer has exhibited her work in New York, Denver, and Los Angeles and her photographs have been published in the US and Europe. This month, Rinnhofer opens a new studio in a segment of Spire Studios, 5 Tompkins Avenue, Beacon. 489-4156.
