Artist and arts educator Valerie Patterson lives and works in the Lake Placid region of northern New York. Her watercolor paintings have been exhibited extensively in solo, national, and international juried exhibitions across the country. Patterson’s work has been the recipient of numerous awards, including The Cover Award for Manhattan Arts International magazine’s annual cover competition; The Back Cover Award for The 12th Edition of the Encyclopedia of Living Artists Cover Competition; First Place Award for The International Artists Management ’99 Juried Exhibition; and the Don Selchow and Martin Scully awards for The North East Watercolor Society’s annual National Juried Exhibition.

Patterson’s artwork can be seen in The Cambridge Art Association’s 2002 National Prize Show, May 3-June 24 in Cambridge, MA, and in Plano, Texas as part of the Plano Art Association’s 2002 National Juried Exhibition, held through April 17. Patterson’s work can be viewed at: www.valeriepatterson.com.
